Note: From October 2026, I will be slowing down my made to order production until Spring/Summer 2027 at the earliest. This is due to the relocation of my workshop to Dunbar and I want to make sure my workshop is fully set up before I start fully making work again. The basket is made with muliticoloured Scottish willows on the sides; Bleu, Brittany Green, Carl Jensen, all woven with colour contrast and texture in mind. It’s a very special one! Somerset willow (Black Maul) is used for the stakes and top and bottom waling (a strong grippy weave always used to start and end the sides). It is based on a traditional ‘one bushel’ size. It’s extremely comfortable for weight bearing, being a basket stemming from a design that has evolved over possibly hundreds of years.
