Repairs

Note: From October 2026, I will not be taking on new repair work until Spring 2027 at the earliest. This is due to the relocation of my workshop to Dunbar and I want to make sure my workshop is fully set up before I begin this work again.

Baskets are made to last a long time but sometimes the inevitable can happen. To extend its life I am able to repair handles, snags, borders, and other damage caused through wear and tear on different basket types. If you are unsure of the level of repair your basket might need, please get in touch with photographs and description. Please make sure your basket hasn’t been infested with woodworm as I cannot let this in the workshop!

Below is a list of sample basic cost of repair work:

  • 1 x twisted rope handle - £32 - ie. log basket handle

  • 2 x twisted rope handles - £45

  • bow handle - £38 - ie. shopping basket handle

  • further work - £32/hr - ie. any other work required

Note: cost of material included in the above unless specified.
