Weave your own willow square platter with basketmaker Anna Liebmann, perfect for holding a pot or using as a tray.

Using a lap-based method, you will work with a pre-dried square hoop, specially prepared in advance. You’ll learn to build up your square platter with intricate patterns of willow rods and experiment with colour contrasts.  

Once your piece is complete, Anna will demonstrate how to form a hoop, using traditional joins and pins. You will then construct your own hoop to take home, dry, and use in future projects. 

All tools and materials will be provided. Spaces are limited, so it is recommended to book in advance. 

Anna grows eight different types of willow, each varying in hue, texture, and elasticity. Her practice focuses on highlighting the natural beauty of the willow, contrasting tones to create baskets and forms that are both functional and striking.
